Some additional information in one line

If you're running a Canadian business and using QuickBooks Online (QB0), you're already ahead of the curve. QBO is excellent at tracking income and expenses, reconciling accounts, and giving you a clear picture of your financial health. It's the backbone of modern small business accounting.

But knowing what you owe and managing the payment process are very different. That gap is where a lot of controllers and business owners quietly lose hours every week.

What QBO Bill Pay does (and doesn’t do)

QuickBooks has a built-in bill pay feature, and it works — for simple situations. You can log a bill, approve it, and send a payment. But once your operations get more complex, QBO doesn’t work as well on its own.

Need multiple people to approve a payment before it goes out? You can only access multi-level approval workflows in QBO through the Elite plan for around $120/month. Without Elite, you can also only approve the bill, not the release.

Need to collect money from clients, collect for recurring billing, or pull payments via Pre-Authorized Debit (PADs)? QBO does invoicing. It doesn't do AR automation — no PADs, no pull-based collections, no full receivables lifecycle.

Paying multiple vendors at once? QBO lets you select multiple bills on the "Pay Bills" screen, but you can't schedule batch payments online, and reconciling batches through the bank feed is an extra, time-consuming step. For a business with a high volume of payables, that alone can eat up hours of someone's week.

And if you have international vendors or contractors? QBO Bill Pay doesn't support international payments at all.

QuickBooks + Plooto: Better together

Plooto doesn't replace QuickBooks; it complements it – and vice versa.

QuickBooks and Plooto are better together. Your books stay exactly where they are — Plooto simply takes care of everything QuickBooks wasn't built to handle. Automated approvals, full AR lifecycle management, batch payments, and seamless two-way sync mean less time on manual work, better visibility into your cash flow, and savings that add up fast.

If you're already using QuickBooks, adding Plooto isn't a switch — it's the missing piece.
